「予定」は plans です。単数形 plan で使うと = idea「考え」です。

今年は2006年です。
This is the year 2006.
This だけでいいんですね。
「今年は平成18年です。」は英語でなんと言うのでしょうか。

This is the 18th year of Heisei.
私は昭和52年生まれです。つまり、1977年生まれです。
I was born in the fifty-second year of Showa, that is, in 1977.
ネイティブを相手に会話をしているときに、年号（元号）を使うことはまずないとは思いますが・・。(^ ^ ;)
ちなみに、年号は
the name of an era
（グランドセンチュリー和英辞典第2版より）
というそうです。
