という英語を聞きました。漠然とした予定の場合、上記のように、plan には -s をつけて plans とするのが普通のようです。

今年は2006年です。

「今年は平成18年です。」は英語でなんと言うのでしょうか。

堀江被告保釈に関する記事から、覚えておこうと思った語句や表現を少し _ψ(‥ ) ｶｷｶｷ... してみました。自分なりに編集している箇所もあります。
堀江被告が保釈された。

※ 堀江被告の被告にあたる部分が英文記事には見当たりません。普通に Horie, 33, who has been indicted for... や its decision to release Horie と表現されています。
～を保釈する
to release ～ on bail
bail は 保釈金、保釈 の意味では [U] 不可算名詞ですので、bails とはならないようです。
ちなみに 「保釈する」 は 「保証金に基づいて釈放する」という意味ですが、英語では on bail （保証金に基づいて） release （釈放する）= release on bail とそのまま表現するんですね。

ふと思ったことなのですが、英語では具体的に表現されることが多いと聞きますので、漠然と「証券取引法違反の罪で逮捕された」というよりも、具体的に「不正会計で逮捕された」とか「粉飾決算で逮捕された」とした方がやはり英語らしいのでしょうか。

自分なりに口頭で人に説明するときは、例えば下記のように言えるでしょうか。

Spreading false information と fabricating financial reports については以下で確認いただけます。 to be exact は「正確には」の意。
堀江被告は、風説の流布、有価証券報告書の虚偽記載、２つの罪で起訴されている。
